Description Miniature Cartail Typha minima perfect pond plant for the very small pond or container garden. This species has petite, round catkins on petite, vertical plants. Foliage is often an attractive blue-green color. Typha minima is not as invasive as the larger types, but will still spread, and so is best contained. The main attraction of all reedmaces is the characteristic fruiting bodies produced after flowering. These are the female parts of the spike-like inflorescence (spadix), which appear below the male parts that form the elongated tip. Together they form the typical bulrush "head".
